While this intent and structure make it similar to John Lindow’s Norse Mythology (#10 on the beginner-level list), the two books have different scopes and target audiences. Lindow’s book is written for newbies and is therefore more accessible, which is why it’s on the first list. Simek’s book is written for scholars and rigorous laypeople.
